Kia Ora - the worlds warmest welcome

Kia Ora Family,
Tonight we went to the Tamaki Maori Village where we experienced a Hungi and Haka night. We got picked up by the tour bus and our bus name was HUIA (who-ah) and our guide was Chief. He taught us some Maori language and explained some of the cultural practises. The village was set up to represent an ancient village and all of the people were dressed in traditional costumes. The warriors did a haka when we arrived and then we did a tour through the village and saw how ancient life used to be. We then went into the viallge hall and listened to songs and stories and another haka. The night ended with an all you can eat buffet cooked in pits which was very yummy - I had a chicken bone. Then we had a bus ride home. The ride home was funny because the bus driver made all of the people from different cultures to sing a song from their homeland. There was a few Aussies on the bus so we sang Waltzing Matilda. A fantastic night.
